Turning on my sci-fi nerd theorycrafting, but just becuase the mag is hovering doens't mean it isn't still projecting a lot of downward force with whatever it is that is making it hover. Basic laws of physics with "equal and opposite reaction". If gravity is pulling downward and the magrider is hovering stationary, then it goes to reason that the mag has something that is at least as strong as the force of gravity counteracting it. Given the mag is still an armored beast that's still extremely heavy and getting underit could still be quite crushing.
The mag might be more maneuverable simply because it has no friction since it isn't contacting the terrain directly, nor does it have wheels to prevent it from moving horizontally.
tl;dr - it could still crush you
