The way I'd like to see it handled would be:
1. Cockpit on, look around enabled, more info on instruments.
2. Cockpit off, greater forward visibility but forward view is locked.
3. Not a fan of 3rd person, but I don't have a problem with them putting it in for the noob pilots.
