I've always felt that the MBT's in this game have had their model design inspirations from the Abrams, T-90 and the Eldars grav tank from Warhammer 40k.
Not only are the models similar to these designs but they also fit the faction themes of TR being communistic like Russia, NC being freedom fighters like America and the VS being Technophiles like the Eldar.
That being said, I've always felt that the TR prowler looks more like a car than a tank and I have a design change that I would like to present here:
