I really dont know what you mean by "the Asian market really digs that stuff" but I really dig it and I'm not Asian. Also, the world showing is on the 25th not 23rd.

I agree with the OP. I was absolutely appalled that they spent money making this trailer. The money would have been much better spent on designing an over-sized codpiece that I can buy in the cash shop. Geez, what is SOE thinking?...trying to advertise and get new players into Planetside, dumbest thing I ever heard. Stupid SOE...derp.

Seeing gameplay every day is really nice, don't get me wrong, but I want something that sends shivers down my spine and makes my arms tingle when I watch it. Gameplay doesn't do that.

The trailer was made for human beings who possess vision and hearing. Whether money spent marketing the game is well-spent is probably impossible to say without having any numbers available to us, but it isn't like every dollar they spent on this video was one less dollar going toward getting you in the beta sooner or fixing bugs. So I think the implication of the thread is a bit off.

More than 250,000 people have seen the trailer and it was #15 on the trending YouTube videos today. I'd honestly say it was money well spent. The goal is to get people excited about PlanetSide 2.

You folks have seen hours and hours of gameplay so there really isn't too much new and shiny to reveal. To the general public though, I still regularly hear "Why aren't you guys advertising more?" This is us advertising more.
