Outfit Warships


It's basically an idea for outfit housing. A warship orbiting Auraxis or drifting through the Auraxian system (w.e). Outfit members (and guests and/or members of outfit's platoons at an officer's discretion) can enter the warship and in this warship they can grab their gear, armor, form up and drop into the battlefield.

Vehicles would probably need a limitation on where they can drop down or warp in.

It's funny we were talking about something similar the other night.

I love the idea of outfits being based out of:

Frigates->Destroyers->Cruisers->Battleships->Carriers->Orbital Platforms depending on outfit size/points.

Perhaps once a day or so an outfit could receive a "Tactical Insertion" which would be like an outfit-specific power where the outfit could be drop-podded in items of their choosing onto any location on the hex-grid from their ship. Or, the ship could appear in flight over the battlefield inserting the group, justifying the Titan-like ship we saw in the art for Planetside 2, and a way of showing off your outfits prestige. It also makes this "private area" a game element, not just a static piece of e-peen.

Just bloody imagine 80 guys from an outfit in an assorted variety of gear jumping into a critical par of the fray fully equipped, guns blazing. Like a HART on steroids. It's certainly more dramatic than an OS, and requires the outfit to team up and launch such a RAID.

I LOVE this IDEA!

A nice inclusion would be a strategic map where the Squad leader/Platoon leader could sketch out the assault.

"We land here, I want AMSs parked here and here, router should be launched at the same time. Once we get boots on the ground assault the base at this location. Bravo squad provide supressing fire while Alpha hacks the door open. Charlie provides support and cover during the hack."

Excellent idea but maybe with a few additional ideas from my side.

As long as they are not attack-able. Imho I don't want anything in the game to promote war between outfits as it should be about the war between the factions imo. War between outfits can be kept to special events.

Also there should be a limit to where you are able to drop into the battlefield and also the uncappable part of the continent should still be around.

this was one of those ideas that make sense and have some actual sort of merit. badass head work goin on there. good job. maybe it's something that might get added later on in the 3 year plan thing.

what happens to a new player / new character, meaning you're not in an outfit so where is your "sanctuary?" (need to work this out if this idea is to replace the uncapable base mechanic).
