a mobile analogue to the spitfire turrets, very fragile, they follow you around and adds a small boost to firepower. replaces repair slot.
trade offs: increase your damage output but you can no longer repair vehicles. total damage output still below heavy assault. this is a new gameplay style for more combat oriented engineers, obtained by cash shop only. Last edited by moosepoop; 2012-04-22 at 10:12 AM. |

I wouldn't mind it as long as it wasn't hovering and slightly slow. That way it remains more of a defensive tactic. Engineers shouldn't be a damage dealer. But it could change things up a bit.
This reminds me a lot of Hellgate London's engineer gameplay. I loved the little inhibitor bots that debuffed enemies as well. Maybe something like this could be implemented in Planetside 2? Maybe they could offer a slight shield regen debuff, or even a speed debuff. TBH an entire buff/debuff system should be put in place for planetside, as long as the indicators aren't as obnoxious as they can be in RPG's. It makes the roles for engi's and medics so much more enjoyable. And it adds a whole new dimension to combat and preparation. Last edited by ArmedZealot; 2012-04-22 at 11:02 AM. |

If it is a new gameplay style or a different type of weapon, it must be available without using the cash shop. The only thing that should be EXCLUSIVELY available through the cash shop are cosmetic changes and things like experience boosters. It would be fine if you could purchase the playstyle through the cash shop, as long as there were other ways of getting it as well.

Am I only one who just thought of an siege battle being solved by drones. Just think about it. Dozens, if not even hundreds of drones slowly crawling through the door, being followed up by the infantry who would more or less do the mop-up while the drones would continue towards the next room/hallway/building.

If this is the case, i don't think there will be space for a flying auto turret. |

It's not like a UAV that you fly around to shoot things. |

i was thinking of a tiny floating ball the size of a spitfire with minor damage.
i came up with this idea because once you hit indoors engineers become useless in ps1. i thought a small damage boost sacrificing support would be cool. |

When i first read the thread title I thought of those RC recon drone/planes. You could even have them side-grade to remove whatever tiny armaments they had in favor of stealth detection. Both sound very cool to me, but I'm slightly skeptical of how it would play out on balance.
