So, what music will you guys be listening to while playing planetside? This may sound funny, but im listening to Mutter by Rammstein. That, and alot of heavy stuff. Post your favorite and then a genre.

No Music. You can't hear people. Ever tried playing cs listening for footsteps while listening to music? It's pretty damn hard.

yea, thats the main reason i bought a keyboard with media controls. If i suddenly find myself alone or a teammate is talking and i need sound i hit stop or pause. If i need to get pumped up before doing something really stupid, i switch to some nice heavy stuff, maybe techno....but that would have to be a really stupid thing.

Well that depends on how much you need to listen to your environment.

If it's like Urban Terror (Q3 mod) then no music as I'll need to hear breathing and footsteps.

If it's more like TFC where you can get by without hearing footsteps and such then I have many options.

Heavy metal for the big battles, classical for stealth missions and either Cowboy Bebop or Trigun for driving around.

I play all my FPSes music free. However, I normally have the TV on so when I am waiting to respawn, or have nothing to do, I can watch it.

If I don't have my special playlist marked "old video game music" up while I'm playing a FPS, I always end up with a negative score. God I love techno remixes of old video game music.
