So Josh said beta would be in "a few weeks" and that was 2 weeks ago.

Now Smed is saying some weeks, and so I am assuming this interview was during E3 therefore beta must be next week or the week after

... Or else!

So what your saying is the FPS that CCP is making (Dust 514) is actually Planetside 2, but for pc?

I heard that that game was going to be in the same universe as EVE, so ships in EVE can give fire support while they play their game, or is that another game i was thinking of. Because that would be awesome to bring 2 different games into 1 setting.

Great interview, thanks for posting.

I like the stuff he said about the f2p aspects of the game. It's good to see a company aware that its possible to do f2p wrong and that its not just about exploiting your customers as hard as you can.

I hope by "content" for the f2p base he means new vehicles, new maps and upgrades to the gameplay, more ways to take/cap bases and towers, more was to organize your squads/platoons, better outfit stuff. I'd be sad if all they did was put up some new skins for your gun once in awhile. What I mean is I hope they spend some time upgrading the game itself, rather than just the cosmetics of it.

100 person platoons is pretty amazing. Coordinated activities between multiple outfits with platoon functionality sounds awesome.
