I don't know...

It depends on how the laser weapon works. If it is used for ablative or piercing damage then it wouldn't make a sound (except for capacitors, active cooling equipment, vacuum pumps). If it was used to deliver concussive force via rapid breakdown of material nearby the target, then it would sound a bit like a mini lightening bolt.

...Anyway I think the VS guns need more cowbell.

It's not even close to "pew pew pew", it's more "pum pum pum". They are very low pitched, have lots of bass, and it feels "hollow", almost completely opposite of PS1's laser weapons.

The armor-piercing modes on the PS1 Quasar had the best sound effects.
