![]() Right now I am helping to work on designing astronomy lab for local college. The lab will measure the declination of the sun using time-lapsed photograph (see picture), similar to what I did in my undergraduate years. When I orginally did this lab back 2009, the video camera I was able to take .mp4s turn them into .avi's so I could make time-lapsed pictures using virtual dub and gliffy. However, the file formats have changed since now alot of video cameras record in HD. This new "fancy" video camera uses .m2st and .mst, which are video format I have never dealt with before. I would really like to design this lab with the same methodology (the same steps) that I used in 2009 so I would like to get the video's in .avi Does anyone know an free/inexpensive and mostly lossless way to take a .m2st file and make it .avi or .mp4? |

I just find a step by step guide on how to convert HD .m2ts to .avi with the original video quality
After a try, i find it works really great. It also can convert M2TS to WMV, MPG, DV, MP4, MOV, ProRes, FLV, SWF, etc. ![]() |

Hey my space warrior, i met similar problems as yours when i try to upload my game video of PS2, some website have their own criteria and some exclusive formats are required for me to upload my game video. So i use some converters such as faassoft and wondershare. Of course, they can also finish what you mentioned, converting hd, m2ts to avi although i did not ever try it but i am pretty sure there are such opitions.

Sorry to bother, but this seems to be a related thread to my question. I also have one isse about video conversion. Recently, I converted one of my DVD from disc to MKV with this software http://www.videoconverterfactory.com...vd-to-mkv.html. The output video is fine with high resolution. However, there is no sound, no audio file. I wonder whether it is caused by the compression process, so I cancel the built-in compressor and convert for the second time, however, it still does not work. Anyone has any ideas?
