and what if you have a new gamer who just isn't very original and simply wants the name john. If john is taken, he's used to most systems (aol, yahoo, hotmail, most any game) letting him have something like john2003. That's wrong with that?? |

I voted against numbers, but I agree with mistled, you should be able to have like john2003 but not 1mA1337sp3ak1n6k3w1dud3
And equally you shouldnt be allowed to have ones like srebmunfognirtsmodnara either

I'm all for numbers and special chars, rotating a letter out of your name and putting in a number or brackets is a great way to fill the other 3 char slots while still be recognizable. I think they should put a cap on how many special chars you can have in your name though, maybe three or four total, it would get rid of b0bt3h1337zd00d but still allow me to use ][ncompetent for my MAX guy.
