How to activate max shield

I have the personal shield implant, however i seem to remember reading that max units can activate can activate an additional shield. I often see max units with a glowing shield surrounding them. I have yet to figure out how to activate this shield other than the implant. I hope someone can help me with this one.

Yes the NC MAX could activate a shield as it's special MAX ability which every empire has and is different fore each empire

TR
Could use anchors to hold to the ground and shoot faster
NC
Could use a shield that protects them from attacks before the shield time runs off or it is destroyed (but can still be recharged)
VS
Could use jets to fly around for a little

The default button to activate any of the MAXs special abilities is the B key.

What would be the point? You've already got a shield that stops all damage, why would you need to have another one that drains stamina active too?

I didn't ask if there was a point. I asked if it can be done. If I knew what the answer was or whether or not there's a point, I wouldn't have asked.

You won't loose any speed by loosing stamina in max suits anyhow, would you?

No, you just lose the ability to jump. Personal Shield does work with NC MAX shields, however I believe the MAX shields take all the damage. You could turn PS on after the shields are down, and get a longer effect.

Personal Shield works in conjunction with the MaX Armor. A outfitmate of mine puts on the NC MaX shield and then activates personal Shield when shoot'n. It's a complicated when your in the shit but he seems to have perfected it

Personal shield combined with the NC MAX shield works well for me. Personal shield on while shooting, MAX shield on while reloading/moving around. Since stamina doesn't really matter when you're in a max it doesn't matter if it hits 0.
