Joining the Tribe!

Hi folks !

I started as a Tribes 2 player when i was little (14-16 yo), so long ago, and was totally under the charm of this kind of gameplay: massive battles and maps (at that time), kick ass vehicles, ultra customisation of the roles and equipments...

Unfortunatly, i never had the chance / occasion playing PS. Not enought time, studies, shitty connection, etc.
But from the time i met Tribes 2, it feels like I have been waiting for a games like PS2, whichs seems to represent everything i am asking from the ultimate PC game. Obviously i am overreacting because of the very high hopes i put in this game, but i really can't wait to put my hands on it !!

I hope to have fun and learn a lot of things from you veterans from PS (1), and maybe get a more accurate idea of what to expect.

Tribes 2 is god tier. I have a lot of fond memories of playing it. Good to have players coming from games like that to join us in PS2. None of us can wait to get our hands on it either.

I loved being a fighter pilot back then, it used to be so great taking down bombers and transports with 6 heavies inside...

Defending with a Shrike - taking out incoming cappers/shrikes or perusing our teams flag when someone else had it. Good times

I fucking loved flying a Shrike. I think that's why I gravitated so quickly towards being a pilot in Planetside. Of course, flying a Shrike was a lot more dynamic and interesting, as well as challenging, than flying a Skeeter or a Reaver, but flying in Planetside was still a lot of fun. Hopefully PS2 makes it that much better, with improved flight mechanics.

Mind you, I was a somewhat shitty Shrike pilot, as well as an average Reaver/Mosquito pilot, but I feel like I've gotten better at video games in general since then. I can't wait to dedicate myself and improve myself on a more advanced flight model in PS2. Empire Specific fighters is also something I've been waiting for since I first started playing Planetside shortly after it first came out, so I'm really excited for PS2.

It's astonishing how much fun Shrikes were even if you weren't the best with them.
