Think about this, in the IGN preview, theymention the beta comming up "soon". That, atleast in my desperate mind says before Christmas.

I doubt anything will happen before the new year. Beta will take a lot of support, and people that are in the frame of mind to do some work.

So with Christmas and New Years right around the corner and people taking time off it really seems unlikely that they will start it before then.

Well, if the release date doesnt get pushed back anymore, i'd imagine they'd try to at least get the cd's mailed before the end of the year. How much real testing can be done in two phases between january and march?

Thought it was coming out in Feb... they don't need to do alot of testing mainly stress testing servers and what not. Shouldn't take that long to work out any other smaller kinks in the game.

that wouldn't make much sense considering they are now aiming for a feb release

Well if its Feb, then thats even better

But nobody knows how much testing they need to do, not even the devs. Thats the whole point of testing! Companies should do as much testing as possible to prevent launches like WW2 Online.

Id imagine the testing period of a FPS baseed MMO would not be nearly as long as an RPG based one.

Just a guess
