Re: I pity the PS4 crowd

Just occurred to me that PS2 doesn't have a noob level area for new players of similar skill to fight. You're just dropped into the brewing pot with everyone else. I'm sure that will bugger the learning curve for a lot of people. I'm really fucking curious how they'll pull off the PS4 version lol

I'm sure they'll have a real, honest to god tutorial for players to run through long before the PS4 launch so that'll help take some of the sting out of BR1's hot dropping onto the crown.
lol's probably hit the nail on the head with the aim-assist auto shotguns though.

That's my favorite thing about PlanetSide. You're thrown in with the best of them, right with the worst of them, forever and ever.

The cool thing about the PS4 is that is going to Launch with HeadSet, I believe.

So their is gonna be a lot of talking which IMO is kind of missing Planetside 2, at least inside the game.

Still gonna be a lot of little kids playing music and what not but atleast the in game chat is gonna be used more than PC.

I would really love this idea if PS4 players would be on the same servers as PC players for a few reasons. The most obvious being that we would get to wreck all those terrible console kiddies, but also because it would ensure that they stay on track with the game and don't go off on two different tangents, creating different updates for each game, which would definitely result in more work and less reward.
Uhm, more players equates to more money which then equates to more development resources.

Or... just simply more profit margins...

Which makes me wonder... How many people on the servers at once compared to the PC version and how many continents will there be?
Why would it be dumbed down? A large limitation to MMOs is RAM and as of right now the PC client is gimped because the vast majority of PC gamers use Windows XP which is why the client is 32 bit. If anything, the PS4 version will have a RAM advantage.

Doesn't work quite like that as putting more resources allows to expand the player growth rate which then equates to more money. Profit margins that companies get aren't pocketed by anyone, they are immediately put back into the company to expand the company further.

What? Where did that come from?

But the PS4 will have a reasonable amount of RAM; 8GB believe.

Actually I think I am remembering wrong. Something like 25% use a 32 bit operating system, part of which is Windows XP. The other part which is Windows 7 32 bit, Vista 32 bit, etc.

Well, I get your point.
Sad that PS2 is a 32-bit app.
The PS4 is surely 64-bit.

Don't bother, Tom Peters isn't happy if he doesn't have anything to complain about.
