Well I don't know about for half. Maybe for less than that but not half. I was doing some configuring of my own on a system that said it would get over 17,000 3dmark score and it totaled about $3000. That was with a 18in lcd monitor. The only difference was about .3 ghz in the oc'd cpu speeds maybe less.

Intel...

P4s run a lot cooler then Athlon XPs...so you get a more stable processor.

Yeah I got a 18in lcd and that was $500. The 20 in was like $1,499. Wtf is that?

Intel > AMD for sure, I have 2 AMD Xp's and an Intel P4, and after a lot of playing with both companies, I would have to say Im an Intel lover for stability.

If you've got stability problems with XPs youve got either a cooling problem or power supply problem. All new chip/sets are stable.

Yes both are very stable. The only difference is that AMD's get a bit hotter than P4s. If you have proper cooling it shouldn't be an issue at all.
