Sounds like that bot uses AIML. AIML (Artificial Intelligence Markup Language) is an XML-compliant language that's easy to learn, and makes it possible for you to begin customizing a bot or create one from scratch within minutes.

I've played around with AIML scripting for a bit when I first was messing with my bot. It's sort of fun. I lost interest after a while though.

It�s really cool how well it works if you set the scripts up right. But that takes time. I've seen whole AIML scripts that people are selling for $_$ I've even seen CyborSex Bot AIML scripts for sale. They were the highest priced of course.
