I do kind of miss the game.
The problem is that, as far as shooters go, I expect a lot more from games now. Going back would poison my memory.

I only Beta tested PS (Basic Training started one month after PS went Gold). But I still talk about some of the battles we had... Jumpgate died
 , now maybe PS also ...

I only got into Planetside because of the Reserves program... I loved it from start to finish... Now I'm waiting for the next Reserves program... though I seriously think that they should make it a permanent... It would make me a happy sergeant in the long run...

I loved this game like crazy. I stopped playing it because it just got way too repetitive for me. There just wasn't enough in this game. Yeah they added weapons and vehicles, and this huge underground area that nobody ever used. As far as how the game was played, attack a tower, take it over, attack a base, take it over, lose a base, lose a tower, etc.. not enough depth to keep me in it.

Kyonye, so far AFAIK there's nothing better... it is still unique! And it's better than Battlezone, better than Wargasm, better than Battlefield, and since it's an MMOFPS and not just a play-on-one-map-at-a-time FPS, it's also better than Operation Flashpoint.
The only thing that could perhaps beat it is Huxley I think but I haven't tried that one... or are there other MMOFPS's around?
