3GB should be enough. What OS do you run?

another question is what kind of memory does your motherboard use?

3gb would probably be enough to get into the game and get by on, but between the game and your os youll probably be hitting the pagefile and do a bit of hdd thrashing in the process.

I use windows 7 64bit myself and regularly see 2-2.5gb used when just sitting at desktop.

On Windows 7 64-bit w/ 4GB in BF3 it would go really slow and sometimes crash (especially with alt-tabbing.) Upgrading to 8 did wonders. BF3 using 4gb on it's own now when I play, so while I think you may be able to run it okay, getting 8gb wouldn't hurt. I'd guess wait for release and see how it runs once it's optimized.

Re: RAM

I can't upgrade to Windows 7 sadly, this laptop can only handle Windows XP which limits me sadly.

if youre on a laptop that isnt able to run windows 7 youre probably not going to have much luck with PS2. The gpu and cpu would probably limit you far more than lack of memory would.

If your laptop can't handle Windows 7, handling PS2 is the least of your upgrade worries.

(Also, I wouldn't be surprised if XP isn't even officially supported by SOE for this.)

I don't think that hardware will run PS2 at all.

Re: RAM

Would be nice if they would just release an idea of what the specs are.

Likely needs tweaking and you will need full stress test for that. I'm going to say you will need a new laptop as well.

They will probably release the official requirements after they hit beta and expose the client to a wide range of hardware.

Re: RAM

If you must have a laptop. I would say 850 minimum to have a good playing experience. A GT 650M should play the game ok.
