How poor can an Empire get?

If I understand correctly, you get different of resources depending on the land you own.

So lets say you lost a lot of land......Does that mean you only have a limit type of vehicles you can use before u run out of resources?

If this the case then if somebody who gets a tank every and dies quickly...can make this resources run out?

or is it like everybody has their own share of resources so if that person who gets killed quickly in the tank will no longer be able to get a tank because he has no resources...but another people with resources could still get tanks?

If it is like my first example than Empires being poor is gonna be a huge problem.

Everyone has their own share of resources. It's not a collective pool, it's lots of individual pools.

So how do u get resources?.....by capturing bases or they just accumulate overtime but get extra if u capture a base?.

I would imagine it'd be like a steady income of resources based on the territories you control

You get resources by owning land that has those resources. Resource distribution across continents will not be static however, it will constantly change, an empire with just a few high resource hexes could in fact be in a better position than an empire with a lot of land that are low in resource value.

Yea resources are individually based, but it could still be a potential depending on how resources are distributed and if any empire has little land and pop for some time.

I imagine though that each sanctuary provides a moderately high tick rate for resources.

by capping bases would be a poor design, its for holding the land. (not saying there is no resources gain for the actual capture of siege of a base, that remains unknown)

So what you guys are saying is I can create a backup account.....and get a steady income of resources?...

Then when I run out of resources on my main account, I just go to the backup one?

If this is true then I'd be really disappointed. I hope they manage to make getting specialized vehicles a little harder then. If there will be Tech Plants or equivalent on every square mile of the map, then it'd definitely take a lot of strategy out of the game.

I didn't say there are tech plants everywhere though did I? All I said was that everyone has their own resource pool.

If you're willing to play via proxy with a shit ping, sure. That's assuming they don't uniquely identify game clients, meaning you'd have to use a second installation to use another account, and that's assuming they don't uniquely identify your harddrive which is relatively easy to do also, meaning you'd have to use a second storage device, on top of that they could just uniquely identify your whole machine, meaning you'd need another machine altogether.

I really doubt it'll be much of a problem.

no we don't know how theyre distributed, i have some thoughts on the matter though.

I believe it's in Higy's reddit AMMA (or was it during one of the GDC interviews) stated that resources are distributed like dividends from corporations - everyone member of an empire on the continent gets an equal share.
