Do I need to be connected to the internet with the PS3 to play this game?

Do I need to be connected to the internet with the PS3 to play this game?
So I'm new to PS3 and I want to get Lollipop Chainsaw. But I heard that if you want to play the game you need to be online, connected to net. The game is single player and as I read somewhere it's an offline game. Is this true?
