I'm no gun expert, does a weapon with no recoil even need a stock?

You are correct, but a stock also helps with steadying the weapon. A weapon with a stock is a lot easier to bring to aim as opposed to one without (at least in my experience).

If a real world weapon had no recoil, the stock would still be useful when it comes to shooter comfort and control.

Beside this I really like the look of the new armor, especially the carbon and hexagon look.
The new Pulsar looks awesome and the lack of a shoulder stock illustrates that the Vanu weapons have no kickback. I really like that small detail.

I agree that damage degradation will be difficult to balance out, but it add to the feel of Vanu being different so I like it. But I can already see the complaints about the Vanu snipers and that they don't require any skill because they don’t have to deal with bullet drop. ^^

Yes I just said that. Despite being a staunch Terran player since beta, I was never a fan of the old TR goggles. That being said the current TR agile helmets look a little better with the new heavy looking very awesome. A beefed up combine from Half-Life2 maybe.

With regards to this new Vanu agile helmet, not a fan of the geordie visor or the chin strap or the scale head ridges. But hey thats just me, plus TRay did mention customisation.

While I'm glad of your staunch support for the best Empire... I'm afraid disparaging the goggles is a hanging offense.... oh and in case you were wondering it's not by the neck that would be to quick, we hang you from your genitals from tallest point on TR towers.

Well lets be brutally honest. The TR are the manufacturing powerhouse of well designed and well made equipment. The NC are the scrapheap challenge at best and the VS are techno-hippies.

That being said, the Prowler was a magnificent piece of engineering as was the Marauder and the MCG. Lets not forget all Common pool equipment was probably designed and made by the TR prior to the War (ie lack of scrapheap challenge last minute builds plus no hint of Vanu tech disco balls). So the sleak and efficient Reaver, mossy, Gal etc were probably designed by the TR before being stolen by the Smurfs and Barneys.

My point is, the goggles... the goggles seem like a very last minute afterthought for eye protection. As if I was flying a WW1 mothplane shouting 'Tally Ho Gents' and engaging in some gentlemans war.
(which this isnt, Planetside is all about Genocide to the enemy)

Yep. A stock braces the rifle against your body and steadies your aim without even taking recoil into consideration. It also helps you to keep your weapon in position while turning around or on the move, tracking your target, etc, and let's you keep it in position for a lot longer w/o your arms getting tired.

IMO the Pulsar really really needs a stock of some sort and tbh it looks kinda silly w/o one. The lack of a stock always bugged me about the PS1 ESMA models.

But if they won't/can't include one in the base model maybe it'll at least be an unlock or Shop purchase...
