I'm not a fan of the prowlers in the phone pic, they look like boxes with a gun on them. The Planetside Next render above looks more well designed from a ballistics standpoint and fits the Terran theme of curves and circles better. OP's pic also looks silly with the tread skirts so low and not covering the front and back axles.

i have a feeling that it is that way because high up on the prowler skill tree you can add another 100mm cannon on the right side of the turret for the secondary gunner.
wait that would look really dumb... but something along those lines
