Ixtab was hard because it was a giant funnel. Unless you ignored it for last.

Most players approached it without spec ops support. :/

AMS/Router to CC or gen + Ixtab is piss easy.

If you can get a router to the CC... and you have to get the LLU out of the base and to another base...

Oh, sure, I'm over-complicating things, but Ixtab provided me with the longest fights in PS1 i've ever had aside from Baal.

Mekala sieges eclipsed Ixtab. But the hardest base in PS1 to take from a determined defense? Zotz.

Which was ironic, because Bio Labs were the easiest bases to assault in PS1.

I remember Mekala. The only thing is Mekala is a tech plant, thus allowing the defenders a better chance at actually pushing out. I'm not discrediting your claim: Mekala was a hard nut... that island base. If the attackers were determined, yes...

The thing about Ixtab is it's a giant funnel for both the defenders and attackers. Once you're in Ixtab, the owning faction, if they have continental domination in mind, might want to just abandon the base because it's so hard to get the zerg to leave. That's why I remark Ixtab as the nigh-impenetrable fortress of a week's long zerg battle, and many more single days of the same with a couple failed ops thrown in.

In short, I hope Ixtab's glory returns to PlanetSide 2. It'll be the new Crown.

Ixtab was as nothing compared to the capitol, Voltan, on the central island of Hossin. In the four months before Ps2 beta started, I played tr and was on a lot. 4 times while I was playing Voltan was the last tr base in the world and was never lost when that happened.

Yeah, I think I was one of the few that notice that, looks live a river runs under that base!

Also, I will always remember Gunuku, that base was legendary! 4 towers to defends, a tactical nightmare on the center of the map!
