Did SOE delete inactive characters?

Hello everyone. I started playing PS1 again originally played from 03-07. I used to play on Emerald server so now when I log in I only see one server on and my CR5 TR char is not in there. Did SOE delete inactive characters?

The sarcastic reply that was bubbling to the surface was "Because in lieu of rewarding anyone in any way for continuing to subscribe, the punished those who didn't, so it was kind of a 'Well, I didn't get nuthin', but 'tleast my characters warn't d'leted'. effect.

Its like a slave driver who lays off the whip for a day. FEELS LIKE A HOLIDAY!

Eh? Was there some kind of cut-off point then?

I resubbed at various points on and off in the last few years and my characters were still available as of my last resub in July or so.

The only difference nowadays was that they'd had "-W" appended to their name (I'm assuming to signify they came from Werner originally).

the -W or -M or whatever was added with the server merge to avoid duplicate names. if you still have that -W you get a one time rename option. /rename or something...cant remember.

@OP
i've never heard anything about character deletion of inactive accounts specifically but could have somethign to do with the merge

Super old, http://www.planetside-universe.com/n...leanup-733.htm

They also did mention characters would be deleted during the merge of servers, but, "Reserve, trial and rental accounts that did not convert to a fully paid and entitled subscription prior to August 25, 2009, will have all characters on such accounts deleted".
