9 Squads,
3 Platoons, 1 Company Platoon and Company leaders would be players that have specialised in the leadership tree, able to use a variety of tools to coordinate the troops under their command. Planetside 2 will apparently have thousands of players on the same battlefield, and with that many troops a higher degree of organisations and coordination is required; Companies can provide that. The Company leader will be able to both make and accept broad missions for his players, then be able to break them down into smaller missions for individual Platoons or Squads to perform. |

I think they intend that Outfits (and possibly Outfit alliances) will take the place of >squad organization.
We don't know if PS2 will be released with platoons or not. PS1 certainly wasn't. OTOH, anything that makes it easier to heard the cats that PS players can be is A Good Thing. |

I would like to see this implimented. Honestly I think that Outfits should beable to specialise, and the bonus' would carry towards platoon and company formations. A non outfit player (or one from a diff outfit) would receive these bonus'.
A heavy armor company would have different bonus' than an infantry company, or say a mechanized infantry company. |
