Tell me about it, I have all next week off because apparently I don't take enough time off and my boss has been on my case to take time off so I was hoping and preying the beta would be released by then so I can play all week.

Yes, this is what we have understood from around the time of E3.

Remember, not all PS1 vets will get in ahead of all of the PCGamer key holders, and not all PCGamer key holders will get in ahead of all of the PS1 vets. Both parties are in the same pool, and only some from each group will be allowed in at the start of the beta. The rest will be let in shortly after.

The only thing we know for sure is that PS1 vets and PCGamer key holders will have priority over twitter/facebook keys and random beta registrants, so presumably all of the vets an PCG key people will get in before those other groups do. That's just me surmising though.

I think what they could do is say the beta will happen before such and such dates, like September and hopefully August. Besides that, very excited we got some details on the closed beta, playing my heart out on PS1 to pass the time!

Go to www.planetside2.com and sign for beta again. It should give you option to fill up survey about your specs.

So perhaps all ps1 vets don't get in, appears to be a mix

It's always been ps1 vets and pc gamer codes in the same pool that they pull from before others.

If you read that letter it will be scheduled times I wouldn't expect all out 24/7 til open beta

Something tells me that since they are giving out 30 days to vets, the beta won't be starting for around 30 days. So much for a "couple weeks".

No. Have you read RadarX's VIP posts? He said that this announcement was basically the message that they are starting up closed beta. He said it several times.

I still can't find anything proving this? The only thing I've seen is a twitter quote from February that PCGamer and PS1 vets will have priority, but that was before Twitter and Facebook keys even existed, so it can't really be used as an example.

Yes and? I don't see anything in relation to PCGamer Keys vs Twitter keys. Just a promise to be in the first rounds of testing, which ALL the beta keys have done.

No they aren't. They are behind vets, PCgamer, and fan event people. Stand by while I google.

EDIT:No luck googeling. I remember seeing the closed beta key order in several places, including PSU and dev tweets.

They are giving us free time to show good intention and interest for player driven event. And 30 days is standard amount so its probably easier to give us that instead giving us access only for one weekend. You shouldnt look too much into that. It doesnt mean beta wont start earlier.

I've been looking too and all I can find is word of mouth which always comes back to this one outdated tweet in February. I think the community has been trolling themselves all along.

Edit: Come on, I know the rest of you have been following this as obsessively as I have. Who knows the link to the original source information that PCGamerKeys > Twitter/FB keys?
