Just remember, advertising for PS2 is for everyone who isn't on PSU, /r/planetside, etc. We're so engaged that we don't really matter at this point to advertise to...although this benefits us as well. Yes, they'll engage with us at a different level, but we're not the same as the average person.

Its just like politics. Republicans don't run ads targeted for Republicans. They already have their vote. (Same with Dems) Its for everyone else.

Sony knows their audience. Hardcore fans are great, but the real money is with the casual gamers. I've seen other threads on this forum about console gamers getting excited about Planetside 2 and coming over to join us. Expect lots of COD kiddies, because that's where the money is, and that's the audience this trailer was made for. Nothing wrong with COD kiddies. They can pay for my free game

It obviously wasn't meant for me. Otherwise they'd use a serious catch phrase.

But it is money well spent and these kind of trailers get people excited for the game.

It looks like it'll be excellent... it'd also be at least 20% cooler if there was some of the color that makes the game itself so pretty.

Oh, I still miss "For Land, for Power, Forever."

I'm kind of surprised by the lack of enthusiasm for this CGI trailer, not necessarily in this thread. Personally, I often look forward to the CGI trailers that games come up with more than the game itself(Assassin's Creed is just the same game released every year for another $60, but that yearly trailer keeps me coming back for more). I admit that releasing a teaser is a stupid move honestly, but the little I've seen is making me rabid for more beautiful CGI trailer goodness.

I think this trailer is exactly what PS2 needs. I mean honestly for me it's just an awesome CG with no info, but for that "Why should i care?" audience it's exactly what they need. After watching that they might check out other videos with gameplay and info and then really get an idea of the game.

Thanks Radar. This was an excellent decision by SOE. I was one of those people, and you guys nailed it. Money well spent.
