Just spitballing an idea but from the footage I have seen it seems like once a drop pod lands you just appear next to or in it, not sure if that's a temporary effect. My idea is for the drop pods sides to blow off on touchdown to give it a much more disposable feel. I'm sure they have bigger fish to fry but I just wanted to throw that out there.
