I got the game and played actively form release day till a couple months after Core came out, couldn't find the time to play anymore due to school so :P

I'm excited to jump back into PS2 and drop squads on fools heads while I chill in my Galaxy

i think most players started at release

my reasoning for this is that as the years went by PS1 became less and less popular and release is when the highest populations were on also
from about 2005 onward most people i talked to (outside the game obviously) had never even heard of the game let alone played it
but at around release almost everyone i talked to (even in games like anarchy online which i was playing at the time) had heard of it and wanted to play

Started playing a few months after release. Played on and off for the following years. Came back with a free account in reserves. Got banned for hacking, even though I wasn't hacking. Got pissed and disappointed in what the game had become.

Then I heard about PS2 and I'm playing PS1 again on my own account (was too young for my own account at the time of release) while I wait.

I believe I started around release. I remember playing NC originally in the summer of 2003 before joining the VS in August, and Xen of Onslaught in September.

I played beta with a few friends . I went to Babbage's in the mall when the game came out and purchased it. I played till 2006 or so then again sometime after that and now I'm back again. Going to make up for lost time till PS2 comes around.

Played at release and have played off and on since then. No matter what game has caught the majority of my attention I still manage to spend time on Auraxis a few times a month.

I was exactly the same as this ^^

Played from day1 until the release of BFR and moved back to more standard FPSs
