The sound and music added such character to the first game. I had a phase where I tried to be all hardcore with the music off so I could hear footsteps and doors from half a base away, but eventually decided it wasn't worth depriving myself of the amazing soundtrack.

You guys rock, I can't wait for the new songs!

I just returned from Seattle last night where we recorded a 60-piece orchestra for the score portion of the game. It sounded fantastic!

As good as the virtual instrument samples are nowadays, nothing beats real musicians when it comes to dynamics, power, and emotion. I was literally getting goosebumps and had to stand at attention during the takes for the Terran Republic's main theme.

Can't wait for folks to hear this!

wow, live orchestra music rocks! and a 60 piecses orchestra sounds pretty awesome!

some years ago at a games convention in germany there was a concert with a big orchestra that featured only games music.
i totally got the goosebumps at several songs! monkey island, super mario and starship troopers being the most skinirritating

sadly they didn´t play any planetside or starwars music
