Distance and damage

Do you think that there will be some what of a delay at extreamly long distances and does the damage of the bullet decrease as the distance increases?

A realistic sniper rifle from about 500 yards hits almost instantly in respect to human perception, but at 3500 yards it takes a little bit longer and the bullet slows down quite a bit and eventually starts tumbling end over end, but you would think with this being far off into the future they would develop some technologies that allow for projectile weapons to go much faster and fly straighter, such as ionizing the air in front of the bullet to allow for zero friction.

I read a book called "One shot, one kill" and it was about Vietnam snipers and they were shooting from a mile and a half and by the time the bullet got to the target it was tumbling end over end and didn't pierce the target but hit like a sledge hammer, knocking the target over.

It might be cool to have a knockback function with decreased damage for snipers at long distances. It would only be more realistic unless of course these sniper rifles are highly advanced, but looking at the suppressor how it still shoots 9mm maybe they aren't that advanced. Most police don't even use 9mm anymore because they don't have enough stopping power, so how would a 9mm hold up against a guy in armor?

Hamma knows, maybe. What we know is that there are cones of fire that all weapons use. Based on the angle of the cone, some weapons remain accurate over extreme ranges. I would guess that weapons have a specific range value by ammo type and beyond that, nothing. That is only a guess.

i thikn all weapons have a max range.....

cuz thats why say.... a shotgun can only shoot up to a "medium" dstance

and a gauss rifle can go much farther.

so maybe its all instant and anything after the max its nothing?

just a guess...
