PS1 servers moving to San Diego?

read in the PS2 forums just now. Is this true?

I was considering a final/final resub, but as a UK player, the ping would be tooooo much I fear.........

Thanks WildVS, appreciate the feedback.

Sounds like technology hasn't moved on as much as RadarX suggested in one of the threads in the main PS2 forum - I remember horrible experiences logging on to the West coast server from the UK back in 2004/5 !

Cheers!

Argle! That would be very Machiavellian if true. Also a bit risky - won't the East coast kiddies suffer in terms of latency and ping? And isn't that where most of the population is?

If I was choosing one place in the US for my servers, wouldn't I put them somewhere in the middle?

Hmm guess i'll hold off on my resub then for the time being.
Kinda sad they don't promote US and EU to play together more but I guess they have their reasons. Curse me for being born in the wrong country!!

You'll play on Pro7 servers one way or another.
Doesn't really make much sense. Didn't you just say the PS2 servers are taking the place of the old PS1 servers(which I assume were on the east coast)? Why would the location of the PS1 servers affect how many EU players play on the U.S. Servers when PS2 is launched?

Sorry, read that wrong. I though you said that the PS2 servers were going be based in the old spot the PS1 servers were in, not that the PS2 servers were going to be in SD too.
