Post Smedly Q&A

HomeLAN had a quick interview with John Smedly, Sony Online's CEO. Here is a small taste:
After a slow start, the massively multiplayer genre has grown by leaps and bounds in the past couple of years, with new games being announced every day. Yet Smedley said that despite Sony Onlines leadership role in the genre, they will also be taking risks to continue to lead the competition. The trick here is to not to rest on your laurels, he said, When you see what Everquest II is you are going to be surprised at how many risks we are taking with this game. I think some of the things we are doing are groundbreaking and I think PlanetSide is a great example of that and you will see us into some other genres that we havent talked about yet that we are very excited about.
