When did you earn CR5pam?

I started a couple days late after release (May 25th), but didn't really get into the CR grind until November 2003, when I founded the outfit Enforcers (currently renamed to >War Machine<). I hit CR3 on my birthday and CR5 two days before my brother's birthday. I believe I was one of the first 50 Markov CR5s and one of the first 100 in the entire game. Back in those days people that had CR5 were actual leaders, not like how it has been for the last 7 years where CR is just something else to max out. Most you who played that long ago on Markov would know Baneblade as ActiveX.

In PS2, I hope that leadership has a better representative set of mechanics than it did in PS1, including no Command Channels of any kind. Except perhaps Command itself?

So when did you get the backpack?

Though I've been playing for 7 years, I never got it because I never wanted to focus on the grind. Didn't play for long enough periods of time to get in good with any one outfit, so it was difficult to max out a squad and really grind the points. I just now subbed again though, and I'm planning on getting the backpack this time around! If you're on TR, squad up with me

I had never been interested in leading, so I never worked towards CR5 (I got CR1 back in the day just in case I needed to put down way points, but that was it.) When I heard Planetside 2 was in development, I decided I wanted to work for CR5 so I'd have it before Planetside 2 came out.

At least my girl was supportive.

I forget when I got my backpack. some time in 04 or early 05 i think? Its been so incredibly long. I do remember that I got it on Forseral, at Bel.

I believe I was the 2nd CR5 in the world, with RavenUSC3 beating me by a couple hours. I think we hit CR5 within a week of PS1 release. I think I was also BR 16 at the time

I still had to spend another couple days finishing out BR20 after I had gotten CR5.

That was back in the day when captures were your largest source of XP, so if you were a squad leader you didn't gain BR as fast since all that XP went to CEP. I lagged behind the rest of my outfit in BR.

I also remember being on the leaderboard briefly for kills - as a Vanguard driver. I mowed so many people I made #10 on the leaderboard (my gunner was top-3). And that really was my primary source of kills. That one always makes me laugh. If only they had merits back then...

I got it somewhere around my 6th year. Before that, I was one of the two or three DT members who didn't have it and my missing backpack was a source of great shame.

Think I got it in late 03...maybe 04. Long time ago. Though I remember the the daily routine in sanctuary. "Anyone looking for a squad? Need a gal pilot." Those were the days. Grinding it out for the Emerald TR.
