The tanks are expensive, but to drop a tank out its a grand total of about an hour tops. cyphon (sp?) as much as you can out, clamp the line to the engine with a pair of vice grips, pull the line and let more gas out, remove screws holding input to tank, remove the strap/ binding / 2 bolts / mount on the side of the outlet and let the tank hang while letting more gas out, remove other restraint and take out the tank. Granted IF you have lift this is easy other wise its nigh on impossible. They also can be mounted over an axle or something retarded giving you a headache. Other than that its a pretty easy job.

(I realize hamma already had it done, Im just making conversation)

2k6 Malibu SS Chev

The pump was inside the tank so it had to be siphoned (was full) dropped and then who knows what else to replace the pump and the lines that were chewed through.

Most newer tanks are plastic and have a split design with a treated rubber gasket and a lining on the inside to prevent the gas from melting the plastic shell. Some are one piece units with the nozzle able to come out. A few have to be completely replaced to fix the pump. I shall do research to crave my inner gear head.

It's not always that easy peace. For example in both my cars (Firebird/Trans Am) you have to drop most of the rear end, rear suspension, and the exhaust.

not fast and easy.

So the fucktards screwed something else up in the process and the car started leaking gasoline again the other day, as well as the check engine light coming on solid.

I sent it back there for them to do it right (I wont be paying, the fuckers overcharged me the first time) Jen is sitting in the place watching every move they make in the shop

Dealership where I got it, wouldn't sure if it was originally going to be a warranty issue or not. I wish it blew up so I could have sued their asses

Obviously I didn't pay for their fuckup, should have demanded money back as well.

I got to the dealership at 8am, they had just put his car on the lift. Then they just left it for 1 hour no one touched it. The guy comes in says "its gunna be awhile you can go home" and I say"Well whats wrong with it?" He dosent know I say "course you dont know no one has even looked at it yet Iv been watching though the window for at least 1 hour. Im not leaving until you get the job right now go get it done."

Well he sent out 2 guys 2 1/2 hours later it was fixed.. Stupid dumb asses I showed them
