As I was making my way from work yesterday I came home to see a new car in the parking lot. Well to make a long story really fucking short. My cousin from Austria surprised us, he came all the way from over there on a 7 hour flight, stayed in Montreal for a couple a days with his two friends and then made his way to us. Anyways, as he always does he brought me a bunch of euro music (mostly Metal and the such).
The band that stood out the most was Volbeat. Best way to describe it really is: A mix of heavy metal and old school rock/rockabilly (think Elvis and Johnny cash) a surprising mix to say the least. The first song I listened of them is actually a song by Dusty Springfield which has been done over and over again by numerous singers: "I only wanna be with you". It just so happens that they also had a video for the said song.
All in all... I'm really impressed. What we have around here are cut and paste artist who all sound the same... they bust out of pretty much anything... worth listening to if you ask me.
