News from Comic Con?

I am surprised I haven't seen anything about Planetside 2 at Comic Con. SOE is supposed to have a booth there and, given their San Diego headquarters, I expected them to have something. I am going tomorrow so will post about whether or not I see anything.

Isn't Comic Con a place for like....Comics? And anime....All that nerdy shit. I know video games fall under that category but it doesn't seem like the premier place to unveil a game. Isn't there some show coming up called PAX?

Comic Con is not so much for game unveiling though there is still a large gaming representation. For example, there will be a Guild Wars 2 panel with the producer/developers. Given then SOE has a booth I'm hoping to at least see the intro video on repeat and the chance to talk to Matt Higby or something.

Games are some times at comic con. Though usually more so if they are related to comics/anime. No real reason for PS2 to be there.

As for Games Com, Sony got quite a big area. But that is SCE, means the entire thing for Playstation etc. SOE itself isnt named, but that doesnt have to mean that they are not there.

I ask Joel, he should know. :>

I remember SOE was showing free realms and DCUO at the SCEE booth last year... So yea, I'll have to see / ask. *asks Brasse instead*

Yeah, but think about that. Sony showed DC Universe Online at Comic Con.

Not surprising, and no real precedent for showing games NOT based on comic books. If Sony's got a presence at Comic Con, it's to continue to promote DCUO.

That said, would I buy a comic book miniseries based on Planetside? Probably, yeah. Would be a fun way to promote it.

And you haven't signed the NDA yet ?

I recon we'll have to be patient for quite some time to come, not sure to even gamble if we'd be lucky enough to see beta this year.
