Prone Shooting Position

Did I see something about there being prone position for snipers with a bipod cert?

And does anyone have any additional info on this?

Ive been playing since tech test up through beta and till now. The game really doesnt need prone. I know some people think it would make it better but its fine the way it is. I like prone too, i even play infiltrator as a primary class but I can tell you honestly, in this game it would be very unbalancing. No prone as far as i know and i have to kind of agree with that decision. a 100 prone snipers who can also turn invisible doesnt make for fun gameplay lol.

Being able to cloak at sniping range doesn't mean anything, you already have range + ability to kill at range. Also, cloak is far from invisible at any range, half the time you're even more visible cloaked than not.

They talked about toying with prone in beta but they never did. So no prone at this time and it's unlikely to appear.

Re: Prone Shooting Position

If they ever add prone, there would have to be more function to it than keeping a low profile : / Like crawling through airducts, under vehicles (the sundy you can crouch under already) or below slightly raised flooring. Plant a little C4, crawl away, blow the C4, get a kill.

You know... if firing WHILE prone is the problem, I wouldn't mind denying firing while prone and keeping it to movement and utility use/placement purposes. It could open up some infiltration options in base/outpost design. We currently just kind of run in, with the most infiltration being hiding behind crates and guard rails.

^ Totally agree with that! Can we has please?

I get the arguments against it but it would be nice to be able to use for recon and subterfuge.

While I wouldn't be against having prone as a non-combat maneuver (if that's the proper term to use here) only I do think, or rather know, that a lot of people will just complain about the reasoning behind not allowing players to shoot while being prone.
It would certainly improve players ability to move without being noticed, which could certainly make "spec-ops" more fun.

Well if they add prone they need to lower the TTK on all weapons too as prone. In games like Battlefield and Call of Duty prone works well with the game play as the TTK is alto lower then in PS2.

Personally I like prone because it makes it easer to sneak up on snipers so you can kill them with a knife. Killing snipers with knifes is very satisfying.
