Not looking forward to the MMORPG.com crowd being exposed to this game. I have seen dozens of terrible communities over the years, but the MMORPG.com guys are on an entirely different level.

As much as I am looking forward to the footage I want this game to avoid MMO sites. We need the FPS community not the MMO community...

Fear not. Once the hardcore MMO players learn about PS2's lackluster crafting system they will quickly lose intereset.

But someday we might actually have a player driven resource-based economy, as has been hinted at in some recent video. So who knows.

I've seen no hint and I hope to god this doesn't happen. Then they will have to fight griefers, hackers, and farmers.

Any exposure we get just bolsters support for the game. You may not be identical to the "MMO crowd" but keep in mind a lot of us (I'm an MMO player as well) enjoy FPS games just as much.

You're aware that most people who played planetside 1 also played WoW, WAR and heaps of other MMO'S right and that people who play MMOs also play other FPS games...

Every community should be exposed to PS2. I've rarely met a gamer who only plays one type of game exclusivley. The more the merrier espcially where PS2 is concerned.

Yup. Since I started playing Planetside I've played WoW and GW2's beta weekends, along with other genres like AOE3, SC2, LoL, BLC... etc.

Actually I recall now the video was from just about a year ago, when the devs did a Q&A after releasing the first trailer. So I suppose there's a possibility it's still on the table, but I haven't heard it mentioned since.
