I'm not totally clear on the distinction being made between a server population and individual continent populations. I think it's probably important to differentiate between the two.

For a sense of massive game-play, we're primarily interested in the later. I'd be shocked if they get much past 1000 players per continent, honestly.

It has been stated before, per map. AFAIK the goal was always over 1000 per map.

Honestly if it were ps1 style, it wouldnt be a huge deal. But with ps2 being designed to spread us all out a lot, the bigger number becomes more important.

I didn't see the whole video but it seems like he didn't say that at all.

The interviewer guy asked if it is 64 battlefield style or 1000 MMO style...He said both.

OT: I feel like 333vs333vs333 wouldn't be bad, but like others have said with the new layout it wouldn't be AS awesome.
