PlanetSide 1 on PlayStation 4

What do you think about this idea? The dualshock 4's touch-pad would work perfectly for PS1's inventory system. I imagine with the pc architecture it would be incredibly easy to port over. It would also be aimed towards playstations older audience. I think it would do quite well financially as a PSN title. Definitely an interesting possibility, what do you think?

Yeah... Hardly anyone would play it. Don't get me wrong, I would play it (as I have an appreciation for older console graphics [aka retro game graphics]). But only people with the same respect for them as I do would play it. And trust me, we aren't that many, we are very few far and in between.

I don't think PS1 would work on a console. There's far too many buttons/commands, I don't see how it could work on a console.

In the past people tried to play the game with Xbox/Play station controllers but they could never do everything in the game that they could on mouse and keyboard.

Well the new touch-pad works similar to a mouse so I'm sure they could map a lot of functions to it. Also, according to a lot of Sony interviews, they seem to be embracing free to play with the PS4, so I really wouldn't be surprised if we get some SOE titles on it.

Console gamers usually have a hard time grasping anything more then sluggishly pointing and shooting your opponent (look at every FPS game on console) Something with the complexity of PS1 would boil their brains



Plus they would never let a keyboard/mouse hook upto a Console because then I could buy a ~$500 PS4 that would beat a $1000+ PC. PC hardware devs wouldnt have a bar of it

Unless they could somehow coax players into getting a kb+m combo for the game I wouldn't bet on it. There's probably a larger chance of PS2 being ported, I also don't see them spending on even trying to port PS1. The best you can hope for is probably still the elusive PS1 F2P model.
