Well Purple/Teal/Black is pretty awesome... and can get some hiding advantages lets say... in forrest at night or under water..

Purple does not bother me, I wouldn't mind being purple at night

A major factor for me will be the weaponry, both light and vehicular/vehicles. I kind of wanted to use conventional weapons, but the Vanu have alot going for them, on the other hand, if there weapons turn out to suck forget it... their vehicles are alright, and if the weapons suck I can always grab a common pool weapon... [shrug]

what I want to know is, do you get to pick your helmet? is it one in the same with the armor? which groups have which helmets for which sets of armor?

how you look depends on your empire, armor type and overall l337ness, i don't think you can edit it at all.

Edit:actually now that i think about it, i THINK you can edit faces as well.

This is the Famous "teal" pick. Its an old one, the helms are different in the new non teal ones.

It was the old Vanu Medium Armor. Teal is still used for Highlights, and is promonent on our MAX suit, but not on most armor. Our Stealth suit has no teal to speak of, its purple, like an egg plant.

notice there is teal on the boots and high lights on the neck, but not a ranking color.


I believe though that its Purple and Dark Purple, not black (almost black though) that is the new colors. With Purple highlights.

On a note as helms are now removable, i believe they are redoing them as they redo the heads and faces for all the empires. Just speculation, but we all know the Vanu helms have changed (imo for the better.)

Vanu Soverignty is Purple and Teal(looks more like turqouise to me). Black is just under the armor. There are no black markings.

As far as picking Faction based on color, whats wrong with doing that? If all the factions are supposed to be balanced, then why not pick your favorite color.

BTW I can see it now, all the Factions will be wearing the Agile Exo suit or the stealth suit for night battles.

Actually I'll have my Medium Armor on for any battles. I really don't care about the color that much because my enemy will never get close enough to see it.

If you don't want to play Vanu because they wear purple (of all colors!) and you're affraid people might question your sexuality -

The Empire I choose will not be based on stupid things like looks and colors. My choice rests with the Empire that has the best over-all appearance and who's armors are shaded correctly.

Honestly though, I'll pick an empire because: a) I like their doctrine of , b) I like their Empire specific weapons/vehicles, and c) it's not the team everyone joins.
