PS 1 Free time has started. - Page 7

Not sure if this should go in this thread, but I can't reinstall the game!

When I try to run the launcher, it opens up launchpad and just sits at the blank SOE screen.

Any ideas?

Are you using the new(ish) launcher/installer from here or something older? https://launch.soe.com/installer/Planetside_setup.exe

Well, support got back to me and said "my" account had no evidence of ever playing PlanetSide. I put "my" in quotations, because he quoted an account name back at me that was DEFINITELY not mine, and judging by the screen was definitely not one I was signed into.

Weird....

The new one. It just gets to LaunchPad.exe then doesn't do anything. If I close LaunchPad, the process doesn't close.

my main concern right now is also not being flagged as a veteran for ps2 beta.

Indeed we do, I haven't had any luck, I called and went through 2 CSR chats and twitter.

Don't know if it helps but an update...

About two hours after my chat with the SOE gnome...30 days appeared on my account!!!

He pretty much made me list my entire life story for "verification" over an unsecured connection (no SSL.) I was already logged in, and everything he asked was something I could have easily changed, because, well, I was logged in.

It took ~30 minutes to go through (wait time was 25 minutes,) and in the end he said:

Wow, that sucks. If I were you, if I didn't hear anything by tonight, I'd contact them again tomorrow. If you have PS1 billing on your account, I don't see why there's any delay on your activation.

So, far as I can tell, buying the game and using gamecards doesn't mean anything to them. How lovely.

Yeah, some of our guild who used to play the game have apparently been told to get stuffed because they only bought the game, and expansion, and didn't hand over their CC details to subscribe as well.

Bit weird, because when there have been previous reactivations they haven't had any problems.
