Hey gang. Another week, another line up of stuff to do! This week, our main focus is moving version 3.6 along through Public Testing to get it out the door. Keep an eye on the
Test Server forums for times on Public Play Test.
As for the details on what is in v3.6, we should have the notes for the version rounded up and on the
Release Notes forum shortly. So keep an eye out there for that information.
We spent a good bit of time this weekend watching and playing in the weekend event. Weve talked over a number of ways that we could improve upon the situation. Overall we feel that it was a success and that more people had fun with it than didnt. The biggest change we would do for a future similar event (which we hope to run again, with changes to make it better) would be to more control the whole world to set up and control fights for the entire server population rather than leaving it up to the players. The difficulty, as you can imagine, is the wide variations of population and Empire numbers that any of the servers can put up at any time. So, not easy, but we feel that giving some focus to PlanetSide in such events is a great way to have players get out of it what makes the game so great those massive firefights with both sides really fighting hard.
A few other things of note. PlanetSide Dev. Dude, Samhayne, will be out on some vacation time here during May. But, we should have our spiffy new Community Manager on board in time to keep the masses informed without missing a beat! We will have more information and a proper introduction on all that soon.
We are also working on our 2nd year anniversary version (v3.7 for those keeping track of the numbers) that we are working to have ready for fun in time for the May 20th 2 years of craziness date. Beyond all of that, we are working on design for what will follow as version 3.8.
So, yeah, no shortage of stuff to do around PlanetSide central. Thanks for reading and we will see you again next week with another exciting update!
