Hello all!
I'd thought it would be great if we could have a close combat specialist class. I mean, REAL close combat. Knives and so only. I don't have much description to do there, only that it would be lighter armored than an infiltrator, it would have melee weapons only (two armed, like the MAX) and would be the fastest class. Avantage : Speed, melee power, could jump higher than normal, auto life regen. Disavantage : Really light armored, no mid range, close range or long range weapons : melee only, couldn't carry tools or consumables. For the auto life regen, I don't know if it should be like it's special ability or a buyable armor. For the ability, I also thought about a light shield, the one that every class except MAX have. It could be regen only by engineer. And I don't know about speed and real resistance. It should have the same resistance as an infiltrator, but no shield (one time only) and should twice as fast as the MAX when it has the run ability. Well, i don't know for you but I find this idea quite good |

Doesn't sound good yo me, sounds like a Harasser in infantry form.
Twice as fast as a MAX ? serious? I can imagine a whole squad using your class and taking out a whole platoon... I'd suggested to make the meele weapons customize able. E.g. Take a sharper and longer knife, that's slower than the current, but one hits every class. Like a bush knife ;-) SerethiX - www.serethi.de |

Yeah, I know what you mean.
This is a class I often encounter in this kind of game. It is very fast and so hard to hit, but very weak. This is why it should be lighter than an infiltrator and have no basic shield. What do you mean by : customizable? I thought about a cooldown for this class, but it is so weak you die easily...So I don't know... |

What the OP is asking for, though, is slightly silly. Do you realize how annoying this new class would be? Nothing would piss me off more than being whacked relentlessly by a team of flying, dual-sword-wielding monkeys. And it would bring no benefit to the team. Plus, we don't really need a new class. |

Be careful, I didn't say anythin about flying, but higher jumping capacity.
Also, a fistful of bullet is necessary to take it down. So, as this class only counts on it's power, the others shall count on their accuracy only. Well, this is a gameplay we should think about, because if you know battlefront 2, you should know how balanced the bladed units are, but they're my favourite. |

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is a masterpiece in its own respect, and one that I had a great time with, but I don't support bladed units in this game at all. Planetside 2 is based on tactical gameplay and global strategy, and I think these "bladed units" would be more of a hassle than anything else. |

So basically the Planetside 2 Ninjas? Haha sorry but, Nope, don't see it being any good to the game. BUT I will say this, I do like the idea of a lightweight and speedy class that's not the Light Assault.
Essentially they could be like scouts that only use SMGs, Shotguns, and knives that have an instant kill. They could be used for rushing and flanking troops. But not TOO fast. Or else they will just dodge EVERYTHING. So yeah, MAYBE. |

Just give infiltrator a proper sword/katana with the ability to use it while cloaked. BUT have all reserve energy used for cloaking used up once you swing it so stealth killing isn't over powered.
That way, you sneak, kill and RUN! |

If they're so balanced in PS2 I don't see where could be the troubles to implant them if they allow players to play their own gameplay (mine) and are balanced. If it would be a bladed unit, it wouldn't have no other function, so no weapon or skill like invisibility. So, like it the way it's (or suggest things that would fit with it's first function wich is full power no resistance not to make him to cheat) or dislike it, it's as you wish. |
