Your Ultimate Video Game

Everyone has their own idea of what the ideal video game would be. Their own personal concept of their PERFECT GAME.

I want to know what your ideas are.
Post 'em here.

I'll go first to set the template. It can be any style/genre you like, of coures. Remember, it's YOUR perfect game.

Style/Genre: Mine would be a MMOTPS. (Massively Multiplayer Online Third Person Shooter) in the style of Star Wars Battlefront or GTA: SA, only it would be massively multiplayer instead of single player or console link up.

Character Design: You would create a character much like how you create a character in the Fallout series of games. This, in my opinion, makes each character more personal and deep. You would be able to learn tasks and jobs during the course of the game, from people who have already learned the tasks. Teaching others would also increase your "knowledge" of your skill, until you achieve mastar status. So on, so forth.

World Design: An enormous, freeroaming state, with a kind of highway system where while you're on the highway, it's constantly loading the other worlds, until you get to an "exit" where the world you are attemping to go to will begin ITS loading phase while you're getting off the ramp. This way there is technically no load time. Plus, the highways would lend to great high speed chases.
The worlds would be varied and everchanging. Like giant simcities. Some places would be futuristic and mechanical/digital, some places would resemble fuedal japan in their style, others would resemble arabian architecture and landscape. Some places would look like a ghetto, others like a thriving metropolis. It would be a huge and diverse world where you could play the whole game in one or two places, or go everywhere and see everything.

Factions: Six Factions. The Business class - Characters that are in the game to do business and trade going on adventures only when they absolutely must, or just to better their chances of increasing their status as a business person. The business class may also set up black markets, back-door operations, speak-easies, casinos, and other "vice."
The Law Enforcement Class - Instead of tattling on some asshole for shooting random people in a crowd, there would be players that choose to be involved in law enforcement. You would enlist in the Guard. The guard are the Emperor's (i'll explain the emperor momentarily) personal law/body guard outfit. They've got all sorts of advanced shit to do their thing. The Guard are also the Emperor's army in this world. Some guard will be NPC robots which can be either set to do their work as programmed, or they can be controlled by the emperor or other guard officers. The Law Enforcement Class is part of the Emperor's Army which is one of the primary opposing factions in the game.
Mercenary Class - Warriors for hire. Their only true skills and abilities lie in combat and combat related skills. These players are only good at killing and doing damage, sooo, the best way for them to make money is to hire themselves out to kill for either the Emperor or the Uprising.
The Uprising - This faction is the one that ******dly opposes the Emperor and his Guard. The uprising are a mixture of many different kinds of players that could just as easily fit into the business class, but choose to affiliate themselves with the Uprising instead.
The Outlaw/Criminal Class - This class is the mafioso class. They're not affiliated with the Emperor or the Uprising, their the darker side of the Business class. Choosing this path is choosing to take no side but the side of your "friends/family." In this position, you are avoiding the Guard, and turning a blind eye to the concerns of the Uprising. Drugs/Weapons/Information smuggling. That's what you do.

Of course, any of these factions has the opportunity to change at any time for who and for what they fight. A Mobster/Gangster could decide that the uprising is right, and they could use the help. Or, he could just as easily decide that the Guard could use the help more. The Criminal class are like mercenaries that deal less in combat and more in the means to give others their advantages without actually getting in the fight themselves.

The Emperor: The Emperor would be basically a big character controlled by the Dev team. His job would be to rule with the iron fist of idealogical ambiguity. His rule must be dark and oppressive, but also on a leash, so he doesn't get to the point where he becomes a kind of demi-god.

Character Social Status: Your character can achieve social status as his Good/Evil meter goes up/down. That's right, you have a dark and light side meter. You can either come off as a nice guy or a total prick, a murderous psycho, or a kind gentleman. As you progress through the game, you also gain notoriety. From "that guy, over there" to "Hero of the People!" Each of these social status concepts would have their perks, like the ability to enlist new players into the Guard or the Uprising, if those are your factions.

Everything would be heavily customizeable, from weapons to vehicles. New stuff would be introduced as often as the devs could muster. It would be an every chaning world.

Also, respawning: You can only respawn if you have purchased a respawn terminal. Otherwise you have to wait for an ambulance (run by players from any faction) to come get you and either heal your wounds or try to revive you. There is such a thing as character death in this game. If you die and don't have a respawn tube, you have to COMPLETELY start over. Respawn tubes can be just about anywhere, and, if you own property you can have a respawn tube built on your property that only you can use. Otherwise you have to use public respawn tubes that are located in public respawn buildings which are built onto hospitals.

There is no "dueling" no PvP. It's always PvP. You can shoot anyone you want. BUT, the Guard will see that shit and open fire on your ass, or, they could snag you and fine you or stick you in Jail for up to 48 hours. In other words, you kill a random innocent person and get caught by the Guard, you could have to wait 48 hours before you can even play again. So, this will make certain asshole players THINK before unloading on a crowd of bystanders.

There it is.

MMOFPS, like PlanetSide.

Absolutely no lag whatsoever. As if, somewhere in the future, mankind makes a superduper omgwtf quantum physics flux capacitator computers (and they become common) so gaming is lagless.

Anything can be done. Ground combat, on foot, tanks, transport, anything.
Space combat. Fighter planes, cruisers, space stations (kind of like Cairo in Halo 2, like, an empire/team whatever would deploy these and people could use these as a giant AMS and grab vehicles, man a super omg space turret, etc).

Something uncommon, water combat. Ships to be deployed at sea so you could, like, travel through the water to another continent (without use of warpgates, etc)

Realistic physics. Realistic hitboxes (headshots, yes.)
A very good variety of weaponry. Being able to rig vehicles to your choosen weaponry (like, I'm gonna make a Reaver and stick 15mm's on it).

Boarding ala Halo 2. Dual Wielding ala Halo 2.
Absolutely hackproof using omg1337 anti-haxor skills.
And last, NO camping. Come up with some kind of way to get rid of camping so that a base ALWAYS has a -chance- to live even after the enemy invades.

Edit: Oh yeah. No bullshit waiting for an hour before action like in PlanetSide. That was the biggest problem of PS. Make it so you can go -right- to action, not wait for the HART or get a ride or drive around warpgates.

It will one day, and thousands of people will stay in that world instead of the real one... people would get addicted and live in it.

It's not gonna happen any time soon though.

Style: MMO Combat Flight simulator- all cold war conflicts from the era.

Character Design: You can select country (USA, NATO countries, USSR, Warsaw Pact countries, neutral countries, etc.), skin for plane and character, nose/tail art, etc. With more kills you go higher in rank. If you perform valiant acts, you can get medals, from the Purple Heart to the Medal of Honor. These will be visible on your character.

World Design: I imagine several servers with one massive map. I.E. one server is "Korean Conflict", "Cuban Missile Crisis", "Vietnam", "Central Europe 1970", "Middle East", etc. Characters are retained but aircraft are not- your character retains rank and medals, but the aircraft must fit the time period. One server, called "Melee", has all aircraft in the game.

Because all conflicts of the era were directly tied to the Cold War (even Israel's Seven Day War was), your character can continue to play even if the USA isn't in the conflict, etc.

Factions (all include air force, navy, and Marines):
United States
NATO's Allies

Union of Soviet Socialist Republics
Warsaw Pact allies

All neutral nations

Social Status: If you continue to shoot down friendlies, the PS grief system is in effect, until your character has weapons lock. You then lose medals and rank. If you continue to invoke weapons lock, you will be "jailed" and simply can't use that character for 48 hours. Continued infractions result in a ban.

If you are bored and want to join the other side: If you want to keep your character, you have to "defect." You must undertake a mission where you have to land at an enemy air base. All air forces will be on to you. However, if you manage to evade them all, you get the enemy equivalent of your rank and medals. If you fail, you start over on the enemy side.

Respawning: Full. You die, you respawn. However, if you die a lot, don't expect to get many medals. Additionally, to rise in rank, points are needed. Substantially more points are given if you make it back to base after kills.

NPCs: While the goal is to make no figher/bomber aircraft NPC (and no aircraft is invincible, but NPCs respawn), some support aircraft will be. Tankers, early warning aircraft, and other things nobody will do will be NPC, though if a player wants to, he/she can select that aircraft and perform support duties for points.

The ground war will be conducted by NPCs, though they *will* fire at friendlies using AAA, SAMs, and they may call in fighters.

Points, medals, and ranks:

Points are awarded for:

-killing enemies (25 per enemy aircraft)
-killing enemies and making it back to base (100 per enemy aircraft)
-killing land air defenses (33 for AAA, 50 for SAMs)
-killing enemy ships (75 for doing it, 200 for making it back)
-destroying miscellaneous enemy structures/land items (15 points, no making it back bonus)
-killing high-value enemy aircraft (tankers, recon, experimental, early warning- 33 for the kill, 150 for making it back)

And more.

Medals are awarded for kill streaks, escorting bombers/wounded aircraft, finding downed pilots, etc.

Ranks are awarded for a certain amount of points.

Flyable aircraft:

Most everything, and patches to keep adding more.

The gun kata treats the gun as a total weapon, each fluid position representing a maximum kill zone, inflicting maximum damage on the maximum number of opponents while keeping the defender clear of the statistically traditional trajectories of return fire. By the rote mastery of this art, your firing efficiency will rise by no less than 120%. The difference of a 63% increase to lethal proficiency makes the master of the gun katas an adversary not to be taken lightly.

The Matrix?

I'd like that too, tbh. I'd like to play what The Matrix Online could be.

You can go to war, you can live in Khazam instead of Bastok and you actually can open a store that sells Vana 'Diel fish.

But in real life, there must be things you want to do, but know better than to actually do? In said game, you could do these things, and see the consequence.

Misc Info

ok, an uber 1337 game by me

MMORPGF/TPSSpaceSimFlightSimUnderwaterCombat

It's planetside basicaly planetside, but you can do baiscaly eveyrthing

Combat: All PVP Depends, in space you (can) have a ship you can outfit bases on the skills you have(ala EVE), the combat works like EVE to, untill you get to a base then the mariens that sit in your hold can get out and start trying to take over using your docked ships like an AMS. On the ground it works very similart to PS but you can do third person, different types of armor/weapons(based on skills), mech units(mini-bfrish) tanks, and planes, with two flight models, the fighter plane model witch is used for bombers and fighters(fighter are the counter to bombers, fighters are the counter to fighters, they don't mess with the Vtol's) The you have Vtols, like PS but they have more freedom of movment, like a regular heilo but less complicated. All of these things are based on skills that you learn in real time(basicaly eve, you can get the low end skill in 16 min but your not very good at it at all untill you train up supporting skills and that skil to a higher level)

No on the ground everything is based on the skill of the user so a high level char might be able to get a biger weapon but if he can't use it the new fresh out of spawn can kill him, in space however things depend far more on your trained skills.

Character: You select a base Empire, and then you can select a personality type, some better at space to begin with some better at ground ect. you get a few basic skills depending on what you choose. You get to customise your face and thats about it, as your clothing/armor will depend on both your empire and your outfit(you have to be in an outfit, there are several noob ones that have no leadership, and then player ones like outfits)

Player organization: first it has a stand alone Teamspeak thing that it host a server for evey outfit out there, it can be accesed in and out of game, and otherwise acts exactaly like TS.
Players can start up Outfits, and outfits can join alliances. The outfit selects a corps barracks were operations are based(on a planet or it can be space based). Then as the 'fit grows it can use outfit points to buy upgrades for their members weapons/armor/vechs. It can also you the points to buy manufacturing facilities, so if you loot an enemy weapons you can produce it and it's ammo(limited to 4 things being produced at once) then all of your 'fit members get access to it werever they would get stuff normaly.

Non-combat stuff: There is no monitary system other than outfit upgrades they were off after a month so you have to buy it again. If your trained in somethign you can get it no matter waht however some realy good stuff has a timer. TO move troops around you have to fly(you can fly them thoguth space to and make a reentry in a dropship) them around or drive them, unless your outfit can clame a station(a good dozen outfits can occupy one place) above the planet your fighting on. Spawning has no penalty other than a 30 sec timer. You have to control the station above the cont to use OS's (only leaders of squads, with command 3 and aboe trained can do it)

Maps/getting around: You fight over a planet, there are perhaps 2 dozen of them, each planet has a couple of continents, each with a few bases, these continents are small(3/4's cyssor) but contain true to scale things like cities, and montains and forests. Ie one cont is a mountianous destert, the other is a city in the middle of roling plains. To get from planet to planet you need to get on a (player)ship headed that way that has warp capibilities, once you have a station there you can use the empire transit to get from your home planet to that station. Once at a station you can get on a rentry ship and fly to a certian place or drop form the sation in a hart like pod to the continent it is situated above. Once on the ground you can capture a base and then directly warp from the home cont to the base, or station to the base, the warp also works in reverse, or you can take a drop ship back up. now travel works like PS except there are no Warp gates, you have to fly or boat or fly to space w/ a dropship and the reenter to get to other conts, or get the station above that cont.

Bases: Bigger than PS, some are airbases were you can get the bombers/fighter, some are infantry bases some are cavalry bases, some are starbases, there are atleast two of a base if it is on a cont, though not all conts have all bases. Getting equip. is bases upon what base you are at(basic stuff like light tanks smal gunships/transporsts are always availible)

EDIT!!!: OMG i forgot weapons!
Weapons: Basicaly all of the weapons are things that could be possible, Coil guns, Rail guns, lasers, Conventional stuff, nukes, antimatter ect. All based upon scientific fact, things like pulsars and lashers need not apply.
Ammo with be relistic, and be part of the outfit upgrade system, like the base, you have 7.62w/gun powder for standard weapons, solid metal slugs for rail/coil waepons, capasitors for laser weapons, But if you upgrade you can get Sabot ammo for accuracy, or rail gun ammo with a bit of antimatter in it for more punch. Same goes for rocket/missles. Outfit upgrades can also say get you a better rifle(lke a SOPmod M4 over the standard carbine), training weapons skills allows you to get these weapons/ammo types without expenditure of outfit points however.

wheww that was long, i can't wait for someone to make that...
