Red face Yet Another Performance Questions

Hey guys,

Here is a Question for ya. im trying to determine the optimal settings here. I know that alot of people say that this game runs like shit on their systems. And honestly im semi happy ( lol if there is such a thing ) with how it runs on my board.. Anyhow, my main issue is memory.. i have 768 megs and i get MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER HDD ACCESS!! ( hehe ) no forreal, i get mad hard drive access in zergs. so i know im running low on memory, My pagefile is set at 4 gigs. Im buying more memory soon, but im just hoping that this will solve my issue.

Here are my system specs

Intel Pentium 4 2.2Ghz
768 megs Corsair
Radeon 9800 Pro
soyo Dragon Ultra ( Platinum Edition )
Spark 7 Thermaltake copper heatsink and fan ( friekn Fan sounds like a turbo charger.) maybe i should put a blow off valve on it! lol.

i play planetside at 1600x1200x32 everything maxed out except partical effects is medium and fibre des is low..

Also, does anyone else get some low Framerates when you could play leapfrog in a base Courtyard?!?!

Try lowering your video to 1024x768 and play that for a day. See if your performance jumps up a bit. I got a 2200+, 1Gb Ram, GeForce4Ti 4200, XP and with settings at high or full, including flora, I get around 25 to 30 FPS in zergs. Playable.

Also, try shutting down any programs running in the backround. This includes Kazaa, Winamp, Quicktime, and your anti-virus software. I just disable the AV. The only program running in the backround is IRC.

lol turn it on high. that mofo is loud.. your running it at 3k rpms and your overclocked by 500 mhz?!?!?! Dizzam.. I like to have it running on high while im "in game". I have a thermtake xaser case so total i have 12 Fans inside my Rig.

8 Case Fans
1 Video Card Fan
1 Heatsink/Cpu Fan
and 2 Fans in the PSU ( Powersupply Unit not Planetside-Universe of course )
