I'm in it for Bioware's story.
I liked Kotor 1 and 2. I'm sure I'll like Kotor 3-10.

MMO? What MM? This will be an exercise in single player content consumption. I've played enough EQ clones (wow clone? cmon now.) that there's nothing new to do besides consume story content. Raids, pvp, grinding, gathering, farming, crafting and the rest of the treadmill can suck it. Make a game that's about the journey, not the destination, or stop trying to get into my pants. Bioware, if their wild claims are to be believed, is trying to do just that.

How do you expect us to get in your pants without us trying to?

Buy me a drink and tell me a tale. It's how my wife did it.

I dont have hours to debate this. I played this at PaxEast for 45 min. It was like the same thing as most MMORPGs. That was my impression.

My opinion of PVP in MMORPGs are pretty damn weak. Maybe this will change it? we will see. Im not going to be getting it. at launch. or maybe i will no idea

No need to get upset about this. Considering the past 10 years all we have seen is the same old Clones of mmos. why expect this one to be different.

Yeah, I don't think they are trying to reinvent the wheel with this game. Instead they are just putting gigantic shiney rims on it.

Without reading any posts and even the OP:

SWTOR - IS - SHIT

And believe the dedicated SW fan, I'm speaking truth.

I'm guessing you missed the space aspect.

http://www.swtor.com/info/systems/space-combat

There's also a big push, both internally and among alpha/beta testers and fans who haven't even played, to get the "space on rails" feel completely removed. In other words, they want to make it like space combat in EVE. In testing I've come across feedback requests about this and on the high side (internal) a buddy of mine in QA said something about the massive amounts of requests they got.

So, not only is space combat not canceled, but they're trying to make it the way fans want it.

As long as it's not exactly like Eve

I'm still at a loss to understand why PVP is so good in this game than it would be in another MMORPG when it's still largely rock paper scissors?

I thought Mythic was going to capture that large world RvR system that DAoC had with Warhammer Online. It feel short to that big scale, big open world feel though. Not exactly sure what happened with WAR Online tbh.

Largely, they did via Open RvR servers. RvR lakes were supposed to have this, and at Tier 4 pretty much everyone was in RvR unless they were doing PvE to waste time waiting for people to log in for Guild Night.

There were a number of problems with WAR, some of them game-related and many of them staff-related. I'm sure you can get on Google and find any number of them. From a professional standpoint I'm just not going to get into it, however.
