Second Lieutenant

What do you mean by react? Flinch? Stunned? Thrown back?
I think it would add to the realistic side of gameplay, but this is a game. Not a simulator. It might just detract from gameplay and contradict with the "fast pace" Planetside 2 keeps shooting for. Though minor things such as dilated reticules and waggling sights when shot would be acceptable. Last edited by Whalenator; 2012-03-07 at 09:00 PM. |

Reacting when shot sounds like it might interfere with your ability to fight back. And in a game where you die in a handful of bullets, I have to wonder at making it even more of a disadvantage for the enemy to get the first shot off.
As for damage effects, I dunno, I'm trying to think of a game that did that where it was a positive experience. I guess it's a feature some people like for the sake of realism, but I think in a more arcade-style shooter like Planetside it might not be well-received. |
